(Charlotte, NC) Before high school graduation, Aree Pearlman had already spent three years with youth and state leaders creating an annual youth-led Youth Summit (Positive Forces for Change). She helped create the first campus-wide chapter of UNICEF at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in her undergraduate years and advised PRIDE students (lgbt student organization) at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte during her graduate studies. As the North Florida director of the oldest and largest Jewish youth organization in the world (BBYO), Aree guided youth-led programs and conventions, supervised and trained Jewish youth leaders and adult advisors, and managed youth-to-youth leadership training, building and succession. Aree is dedicated to pursuing her own leadership skills and experience. In the past three years alone, she has graduated from the Bernstein Leadership Group at JFGC (Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte), completed JCC Association Supervisor Training and TAG program training, earned the Distinguished Leadership Award from UNCC, and presented at UNCC leadership conferences. She is currently the Arts Director at the Charlotte JCC (Jewish Community Center).
